Mental health support consultation

Choice Action provides personalised clinical and therapeutic support for people experiencing mental health challenges, including people with complex mental health needs. Support focuses on understanding what is happening, reducing its impact on everyday life and developing strategies that reflect your needs, preferences and goals.

Emma has particular experience supporting people with complex mental health needs. In her former role, she conducted mental health assessments for acutely unwell people in the emergency department and community settings. This experience informs her calm, thorough and person centred approach to clinical and therapeutic support. Her practice is trauma informed, strengths based and recovery focused.

How we can help

Support may include:

  • Mental health assessments to understand symptoms, strengths, risks and support needs
  • Therapeutic counselling and clinical social work intervention
  • Support to understand and manage the impact of mental health symptoms on everyday life
  • Strategies for emotional regulation, coping, communication and problem solving
  • Identifying triggers and early warning signs and planning ways to maintain wellbeing
  • Recovery focused planning that reflects your choices, circumstances and goals
  • Psychoeducation for participants, clients and their chosen support networks
  • Support where mental health, substance use and other complex circumstances occur together

Where support is funded through the NDIS, clinical and therapeutic intervention will relate to your disability support needs, functional impact and NDIS goals.
